Iraq Insurgents to US Soldiers Leave Iraq.

Going back to tactics used in former US wars. Now Iraqi insurgents have resorted to taking hostages. This is to irritate those fighting more and push for an uprising, in countries supporting what the insurgents, call as the uncalled for invasion.

It's only two soldiers being held captive.. I don't see what the big deal is when 10+ innocent civilians have been BEHEADED since this big mess.

I do hope and pray that they are found and rescued, but who knows what those Allah Snackbars have planned.

Only two. Hmm. Well it was something big in the Korean war and really big in the Vietnam war. Taking hostages or prisoners of war become a bargaining tool.

I know and understand that, but when speaking of war it's nothing uncommon. The term "Prisoner of War" is a fairly common one, and it's unfortunate that those soldiers were taken captive.

All I can say is hope that we find them before the "Allah Snackbars" get too frisky.

See if any one falling into the enemies hands is good.
Enemies of war with no Geneva Convention presiding.
Means what ever goes, goes, no questions ask, it's war and without the rules of war.
Brutal and no explanations as to what takes place. Prisoners make no difference.
And deal with fanatics as in Iraq. And expect no torture?

You're mistaken -- I know alot about past wars. I know about prisoner of war mistreatement as well, and I know that it's a terrible thing that sadly continues well into today.

I know about the Bataan Death March in World War 2 and the torture and POW mistreatment that went on during the Vietnam War, so believe me I know how terrible it is, and also believe me: I do hope that we get these soldiers back before they are treated in the same way.

Geneva Convention is useless, man. A good theory, but just plain ol' crap if you ask me. Why? Because none of our enemies abide by it. The good guys are the only ones who follow the rules.

I just wish we could cut loose and really kick the sh*t out of this insurgency. The whole "limited war" theory is a loser, plain and simple.

Thing about it is. Were not following anything resembling it either. Look at the Bay.

An insurgent group claimed the new leader of al-Qaida in Iraq executed the men personally. The military did not confirm whether the soldiers died from wounds suffered in an attack Friday or were kidnapped and later killed. The insurgents offered no evidence of their claim.
